Complete growing system for 30 acres of sweet peppers
For Under Sun Acres, we delivered a fully tailor-made growing system for their Phase 3 expansion, completed in 2025. From our Leamington (Canada) facility, we supplied over 75,000 metres of growing gutters, including suspension, drain water collection, and irrigation.
Under Sun Acres cultivates sweet peppers in Leamington, the heart of North America’s greenhouse industry. The 30-acre expansion marks the third growth phase of this progressive grower, for who Meteor Systems provided the complete growing system.
As always, the solution was engineered to meet the customer’s specific requirements. This high-end suspended growing system includes:

Over 625 rows of GM-05 steel growing gutters, roll-formed on site into seamless, single-piece gutters per row

Gutters manufactured to customer specifications, in this case 250 mm width with a 0.7 mm steel thickness

A high-quality custom suspension system in galvanized steel, supporting the gutters at 4.5 m intervals

A complete stainless steel drain water collection system, featuring end caps with the Under Sun Acres logo laser-cut into them

A precision drip irrigation system, equipped with Sunblock tubes, Supertif pressure-compensating and self-closing drippers, and Wing Peg plant stakes
The Supertif irrigation system ensures highly uniform and precise water delivery from the first to the last plant in each row. Regardless of water pressure variations, every plant receives exactly the same amount of water. Self-closing membranes prevent drainage, while the integrated self-flushing mechanism minimizes the risk of clogging. All irrigation systems are manufactured and fully pre-assembled in our own facilities, enabling fast and reliable installation on site.
