Indoor Growing Systems

Growing on water, also known as water culture or deep water culture, is a hydroponic method where leafy greens and herbs grow without soil, with their roots directly in nutrient-rich water. The plants sit in floating rafts on the water surface.

Rafts with slots are designed for direct seeding, where you sow leafy crops and herbs directly into the raft. If you transplant young plants, choose rafts with plant holes, available with 24 to 280 holes per m² depending on the crop and plant size.

Growing young plants in several layers stacked above each other, optionally with LED lighting and spray booms, requires far less floor space. When the racks stand in the greenhouse or growth chamber where the crop is grown on, plants hardly need to be moved and avoid climate shock during the transition.

In an ebb-and-flow system, the grow table is periodically flooded with water and then drained, so the roots take up water without standing wet all the time. An inlay in the table ensures the roots receive just the right amount of water, and because there is hardly any evaporation, water use stays low.

It depends on the area, the required planting density and whether you want a complete system from seed to harvest or want to integrate individual components into your own system. Request free expert advice for an estimate that suits your crop and business.
