Suspended tomato growing system in Sishui, China
In Sishui, in the Chinese province of Shandong, a new 8.4-hectare semi-closed greenhouse for tomato cultivation is complete. We supplied the complete hanging growing system: 38.5 kilometres of GM-03 growing gutters, 200 mm wide, including drain water collection, turnaround brackets and stem supports.
The GM-03 growing gutters are suspended from the greenhouse structure and carry the substrate for the tomato crop.The drain water is collected through the gutter system. This gives the grower control over the drain water, which can be measured and then reused or discharged in a controlled way.
In high-wire tomato cultivation, the crop is lowered regularly as it grows. Stem guides and stem supports keep the stems in position along the gutter and prevent them from kinking over the gutter edge.
For the greenhouse builder, this is the second project with Meteor Systems. After the first project, the builder chose our growing system again based on the quality delivered.
