Premium-coated tomato growing system in Poland
Polish tomato grower Marcin Wochlik is steadily expanding his greenhouse operation, with a clear focus on high-quality solutions. For the latest 3-hectare expansion, Meteor Systems supplied a complete growing system featuring 16 kilometers of MS-150 coated GM-07 steel growing gutters and pre-assembled Supertif irrigation.
For this expansion, Wochlik chose solutions that are reliable, durable and easy to work with. Durable steel gutters, precise irrigation and a long service life were essential. Just as important was a system that is easy to install and handle, supporting efficient daily work in the greenhouse.
Our solution
For this project, we designed a suspended growing system using our popular GM-07 steel growing gutter, one of the most widely used profiles for vegetable cultivation. After preparing the steel to the correct width in our factory in Breda, the gutters were roll-formed directly inside the greenhouse to full bay length. This approach minimises connections and significantly reduces the risk of leaks.
Wochlik opted to have the gutters treated with our premium MS-150 top coating. This certified, food-safe coating is resistant to cleaning agents, chrome-free and highly corrosion-resistant, and comes with a 10-year warranty for long-term reliability.
The complete system also includes a pre-assembled Supertif irrigation system. Produced and assembled in-house, it can be rolled out directly in the greenhouse. This Supertif is pressure-compensated and self-closing, ensuring accurate and uniform irrigation for each tomato plant. The white outside and black inside of the tubes help keep the water at the right temperature and reduce algae growth.
